Our lessons last between 45 mins and an hour. For small children or students with special requirements or needs we are able to do this by splitting the lesson in half doing parts of it on the ground, in the yard, ridden in the school or out on a short hack.
We
have
special classes for tots, beginners, intermediates, and students who
need to
regain confidence after a fall or time out of the saddle. We also do a
class
for ladies only.
We
keep the
numbers fairly small and if the weather poses a problem we can always
go over
stable management in our adjacent barn.
Parents
are
encouraged to participate in lessons by lead reining their children
which gives
you valuable one to one time with your child. If you wish to leave
older
children to ride whilst you take care of younger siblings you are
welcome to
remain on the yard and can make use of our small petting zoo of other
pets
including a giant rabbit, guinea pigs, fancy rats, Bengal cats, and a BEAR! (it’s OK – we don’t really have a
bear for your children to pet! This is the nickname given to our
particularly
cuddly and friendly house dog Bru –
go and look for him in the gallery)
Hats are provided and safety stirrups or toe stops can be fitted if you do not have your own boots. There are also some body protectors available and all of these are at no extra cost. The cost of a lesson is £20 but should you like to become a “Wildrider” and come regularly then you can buy a Smartride Plan which entitles you to a 15% discount.
